This time, again use your normal translation (we will for the first 5 times), and we are still doing what we did in our first two weeks. Try to complete your straight outline if you haven't and make any obvious adjustments you notice.
New: Do you notice any words or phrases that seem to show up often? Jot them down. You don't need to do the search for them but gather a potential list to study later.
Mainly: We are trying to get our straight outline solid. So let's read through working on our outline again while preparing for some term searches.
Thank you all for sharing your notes and insights, etc. They have been so encouraging to all of us, and just knowing that others are studying too is a major motivation to press on in this.
Example:
The link below is a version of a straight outline where I did it with all of the text. I just pasted the verses in Word and used bullets to keep it straight. This digital method makes it pretty fast to move things around and sometimes you can see a little better.
I basically always start with paper though. It may just be me or that I do so much on the computer at the office, but I love to read with a notepad and jot my notes down that way. Then I go back through when I have some extra time and compile some of my notes into something digital. It's a good way for me to review them, organize them, and sometimes improve on them as I see it more clearly.
Things I'm pondering on recently while reading through:
- All of the evil aspects and how they fit in. The antichrist sections especially (and testing the spirits).
- There's a place in chapter 3 dealing with practicing righteousness that I realize has more than I've caught so far. I'm seeking the Lord to see not only the connection but the differences.
- The transition from love to victory and the concluding notes is so smooth in chapter 5 that it's difficult to tell where to break sometimes.
